History
It began with the vision of one man, Wally Sanger, a builder, developer, and innovator who in 1981 moved his family from Dayton, Ohio to Palm Beach County, Florida. It was there that he established and incorporated Royal Professional Builders (RPB). Always willing to become actively involved in his community, in 1984 Sanger spearheaded a fund-raising campaign to build and donate a Charity Home for the familty of Joey Mitchell -- a home which was completed in 24 hours. By 1989 after patenting a strong, energy efficient wall system which he had just developed, he incorporated Royall Wall Systems with the purpose of supplying those walls to his successful construction company and to other contractors.
During the 7 year span from 1982 to 1989, Royal Professional Builders completed more than 500 residential homes and commercial projects in the Western Communities of Palm Beach County. From 1989 to 1992, Sanger opened production facilities in West Palm Beach to further expand his Royall Wall Systems. Although Hurricane Andrew devastated parts of South Florida in 1992, not a single home built using the Royall Wall system was affected by the hurricane. With those results, the local construction industry began to note the benefits of building with Royall Wall. More builders started to use Royal Wall Systems as a result of its innovative design to withstand catastrophic storms similar to those which were just experienced. In 1994, Sanger added another company to his stable of companies. Permit Engineering Services, Inc. (PES) was born and later that year was awarded its first patent. As a result, in 1997, Royal Concrete Concepts (RCC) was incorporated and between ’97 and ’99 a patent was awarded to RCC for its unique concrete modular building process. In 1998, RCC completed a prototype building for Walt Disney and by early the next year it was awarded its first public bid for the Palm Beach County School District which consisted of the completion of 10 buildings. By 2000, the same school district placed an order for 100 RCC units.
It was in 2002 that Sanger completed his buyout of his partner, Jess Santamaria. From 2002 to 2003, with the various divisions expanding quickly, Royal Management LLC was created as an umbrella company for the purpose of centralizing management and streamlining the various companies under its control. In 2003, 40 residential modular homes were ordered in Okeechobee. And later that same year, RCC won its first Turnkey Site Services public bid.
2004 gave birth to another affiliated company, Royal Architecture & Design (RAD), an in-house architectural design services company. Meanwhile, a Florida Constitutional "Class Size Reduction Amendment" was passed limiting the number of students per classroom. This amendment proved to be a blessing for RCC as school districts began ordering additional classrooms for immediate delivery.
Further expanding its markets to the military sector, RCC received an order from the U.S. Coast Guard for residential units to be delivered offshore to Andros Island and Great Inagua. Later that year, RCC developed its own proprietary floor and roof system. From 2004 to 2006, the Sunshine State was hit by two extremely active hurricane seasons. Fortunately, not a single damage was incurred to any building built by RCC.
In 2006, Royal Professional Builders' quest for environmental consciousness led them to successfully build the first LEED Certified Home in Florida. In 2007, the companies moved into their new Corporate Headquarters in West Palm Beach and in 2008, a 180-acre state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was inaugurated in Okeechobee, Florida. Also that same year, RCC developed its first Assisted Living Facility and established its first, out-of-state distributorships in Mississippi, Texas, and Georgia. To date, over 3,000,000 square feet of modular space have been built by this pretigious company.
In summary, from 1989 to 2009, Royal Professional Builders and Royall Wall Systems built and developed over 5,000 residential and commercial applications. From 1994 to 2009, Permit Engineering Services engineered more than 10,000 square feet of space, including: The Wellington Mall, Flight Training School, Torry Pines Institute, Dolphin Mall, Roger Dean Stadium, St. Lucie Civic Center, Weston Town Center, and the Scripps Research Center. From 2002 to 2009, over 30 school districts ordered educational units from Royal Concrete Concepts and from 1996 to 2006 over one million square fee of classroom space was built. From 2003 to 2006, Royal professional Builders built over 1,000 homes in Port St. Lucie.
